Metal working and welding safety ·
Planning a job and getting materials ·
Preparing mild steel for a project - Cutting, bending, rolling, drilling and grinding ·
MIG welding techniques, including tacking a piece together and running a weld bead ·
Steel clean up and finishing
Some familiarity with tools and workshops/sheds is useful, but not essential.
This course is about applied learning: by the end of the course, you will have made a small fire pit/pot plant holder to take home!
What you bring: Yourself.
All tools, materials and safety equipment are included in the registration.
Morning tea and lunch are provided.
What to wear: long pants, a long sleeved shirt (no synthetic materials, please!) and sturdy closed boots or shoes.
We provide welding helmets, safety glasses, gloves and ear protection.
